Not me posting after 20 years, lol. But deadass, I beeeeeeeeeeen so busy with school, life, and ahhhhhhh. When you booked and busy, that's just it. For example, in " A day in the life of a Veterinary Student,"; My class group conducted an ovariohysterectomy (spay) on a cat today. We had to get to camps by 7:00 am; I got up at 5:30 am to go over some last-minute stuff. The surgery lasted for about 3 hours; then, we had to clean and ensure the cat was okay, so we left at 12:30pm-ish. Then I ran home to do adult stuff. I filed my taxes, submitted some assignments; oh YEA, I ATE. I ran back to campus at 2 pm for class until 4 pm. I checked on the cat at 4 pm for post-op (she was fine; her name is Linda, adorable). After (I didn't expect this to be so quick), I ran back home to care for my animals. I said I would take a nap because I had to go back to campus for a meeting I was hosting at 7 pm (I Didn't, well I slept for maybe 10mins, then it was time to get up, which was entirely my fault). I got to campus to set up the zoom; the meeting was great; we discussed some ideas for increasing student involvement in an organization. I ran downstairs (y'all, I don't run, I am being extra, but I was still tired and probably out of breath) to check on the cat again for 8 pm post-op; she was still doing fantastic. Now I am home. It is currently 9:48 pm, and I am writing a blog. So that's about the average day, lol.
Let me not forget to mention how insane the last two weekends have been (fun but hectic). Saturday, March 19th, was open-house. Each org/class on campus had to have an activity. Ours was the live painted horse. So I had to convince my class/friends to paint a horse at 8 am (it turned out amazing, BTW). From 10 am to 3 pm, I stayed on campus, did not study, and partied all weekend after. This past weekend (March 26th) was our White Coat Ceremony that was finally held after almost two years (COVID). My best Jasmine, my husband (I'll explain later), and my family came to support me. Keep in mind we have exams every other week, so our exam was that Monday (just passed). I did better than expected with partying again all weekend (two weekends in a row, WHO AM I). I also have an extreme allergic reaction to pollen this year; yea, weird.
Minor stuff to catch you upon. I am a second-year at VMCVM, going to be 3rd in about 40ish days (crazy time is flying). The President of my class still, the AASV representative for FAPC, and the image selection representative for JMVE, are fun things. I also got married. Yes, I got married to the love of my life, who just pissed me off while I was writing this blog annoying, but he's great. I went to where we first met, Greensboro, NC. I got married around some of my closest friends from undergrad, grad school, and veterinary school. My mom and a few mentors came to support me as well. Woah, I am a whole married man. Honestly, at one point in my life, shit two months ago didn't think marriage was for me, but I did it, lol. SO, so far in 2022 (the fact that this is my first post of the year is crazy) has been, ehh, okay. The mask mandate was lifted randomly, I know. But I am just out here living my best life is. But I am getting tired, so I will wrap this up! Thanks so much for reading; I'll try to update you more often, but no promises, lol!
